1. Live Outdoor Music

KATIE WILLIAMS, ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER

Live, outdoor music: Small gigs on the patios of my favorite restaurants, weekly series like Chill on the Hill and the mainstream artists at the BMO Pavilion.

2. The Great Taste of the Midwest

CHRIS DROSNER, EXECUTIVE EDITOR

The Great Taste of the Midwest beer festival in Madison (Aug. 10). It’s like Christmas for beer nerds.

3. Festa Italiana

ARCHER PARQUETTE, MANAGING EDITOR

The Italian side of my family would mash my lasagna if I didn’t shout-out Festa Italiana. Come for the calamari; stay for the bocce.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

4. Reading in the Park

BRIANNA SCHUBERT, ASSOCIATE DIGITAL EDITOR

Pack a book and a blanket, grab an iced coffee at Colectivo in Bay View and plop down anywhere in Humboldt Park for a perfect afternoon of reading in the sun (or the shade!).

5. Floating Around

CHELSEA MAMEROW, ART DIRECTOR

Was it really even summer if you didn’t have a tube float? Close to home, we frequent Ottawa Lake, but nothing beats floating down the Kickapoo River near Viroqua.

6. Neveria las Maravillas

BIANCA CABRAL, EDITORIAL DESIGNER

Neveria las Maravillas has artisanal ice cream reminiscent of savory Mexican flavors. My favorite combo is a scoop of guava and vanilla.

7. Biking and Custard

LISA BAKER, ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Biking along the lakefront and going out for custard with the kids the weekend before school starts.

8. Pewaukee Water Ski Club

MELISA MACKEVICIUS-LEONARD, ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Pewaukee Water Ski Club’s show every Thursday evening. Bring some lawn chairs and a picnic dinner and make a night of it.

9. Wisconsin Cottage Getaways

ABBY YEMM, ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

I can never get enough of Wisconsin cottage getaways. Campfires, swimming in the lake, a Summer Shandy and a beautiful sunset – it’s the best time of year!

10. Fox Brook Park Swimming

MEGAN GUZMAN, CIRCULATION AND MARKETING MANAGER

Swimming at the sandy beach at Fox Brook Park in Brookfield. You can’t go wrong with a beer garden at the beach!

11. Muskego Water Bugs

GIGI PETERSON, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Muskego Water Bugs! We watch the waterski team while the kids play in the water and sand.

IMBIBING ALFRESCO

I love patio cocktails on a Sunday fun day. I’m definitely partial to my Bay View patios – Burnhearts, Mothership. I love Voyager – just sitting on the corner having some wine and hanging out.

BIKING

My wife [Kate] and I do a lot of biking on the Oak Leaf Trail. With Kennedy’s disease, it’s gotten a little bit harder, but having an electric bike has made it easier.

PUBLIC GOLF COURSES

I am a terrible golfer who loves golfing, and the [county] golf courses are [flipping] great. They’re inexpensive, they’re fun, and they’re challenging.
