Beer Events Brewing This Week: June 14-17

Plenty of beer events this week start with a busy Wednesday. The fun culminates with the Wisconsin Beer Lovers Fest on Saturday.

Wednesday, June 14

Champps Americana (1240 S. Moorland Rd.) hosts a launch party for Toppling Goliath. The guest of honor is the first barrel of Scorpius Morchella IIPA ever tapped in Wisconsin.

Bierklasse at Café Hollander (5900 W. Mequon Rd.) is themed Summer, Summer, Surlytime. This means you get to sample brews from Surly, one of the best breweries in the Midwest. The cost is $30.

Three Floyds has a mini tap takeover at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 5 p.m. I’m guessing there will be good stuff flowing from the taps.

The Milwaukee Craft Brewery League hosts a tap takeover of local brews and karaoke at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) starting at 6 p.m.

Thursday, June 15

Raised Grain Brewing’s Pop-Up Beer Garden comes to Naga-Waukee Park (651 Hwy 83, Hartland) on Thursday and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.

Friday, June 16

Try samples from Capital Brewery (3 to 6 p.m.) and Bofferding (4 to 7 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.).

Milwaukee Brewing takes over the taps at Milwaukee’s Craft Beer Garden at Humboldt Park (3000 S. Howell Ave.).

Saturday, June 17

Good City Brewing celebrates its first birthday party starting at noon. The party includes the releases of barrel-aged Detail Porter and Dr. J IPA as well as live music. General admission tickets are free, and VIP tickets cost $45 and include a few beers to take home and schwag.

Cheers to The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) for putting only Wisconsin beers on its 80 tap lines for the night.

In related news, the Wisconsin Beer Lovers Festival comes to Bayshore Town Center (5800 N. Bayshore Dr.). Try Wisconsin-brewed beers at the popular fest. Tickets start at $45.

The Brewery Running Series shows up at Brenner Brewing (706 S. 5th St.). Get there at 10 a.m. for a casual 5K run and a beer or two. The cost is $30.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee hands out samples from MobCraft (noon to 2 p.m.) and Goose Island (3 to 5 p.m.).

Try beers from Wisconsin Brewing at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 3 p.m.

Beers for dad are the subjects of the weekly free tasting at both Three Cellars locations (7228 S. 27th St. and N72 W13400 Lund Lane, Menomonee Falls) from 1 to 4 p.m.
