Erv’s Mug (130 W. Ryan Rd.) hosts a beer dinner with some standout brews from Founders Brewing. The four course dinner is paired with some beauties, including Doom Barrel-Aged Imperial IPA and KBS Barrel-Aged Stout. The cost $40 and it’s open seating from 5 to 8 p.m.
Explorium Brewpub (5300 S. 76th St.) taps its collab with 1840 Brewing Company, Funky Doc Rae Scotch Ale aged in wine barrels, at 3 p.m. Both breweries are doing good things, and this is a chance to sample some of their work.
Wednesday, Oct. 18
Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) releases the delicious Sparkly Eyes Imperial IPA at 5 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to wear sparkly outfits.
Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) is embracing the darkness, thanks to Surly Brewing, with a tap takeover at 5 p.m. The highlight is a barrel of Barrel-Aged Darkness Russian Imperial Stout.
Thursday, Oct. 19
Benno’s Bar & Grill (7413 W. Greenfield. Ave.) hosts a release party for Lakefront’s My Turn: Michael. It’s a stout with spiced black tea that sounds ideal for fall. Get there at 7 p.m. to try some.
Friday, Oct. 20
Do you side with me when it comes to pumpkin beers? You can choose from a dozen of them at The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) starting at 4 p.m. Each comes with a garnish of chocolate, caramel, cinnamon or graham cracker. Pumpkin carving is also scheduled. It’s a big fall night.
Try brews from Surly at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.
Try beers from New Belgium at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 4 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 21
The Brewery Running Series wraps ups its season with a 5K that starts at Leff’s Lucky Town (7208 W. State. St.) at 10 a.m. The run is decidedly casual and the $30 entry fee gets you a free beer, a pint glass and other cool stuff.
Volunteer with Good City Brewing at the Urban Ecology Center in Washington Park (1859 N. 40th St.) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The Seek the Good service project involves a lot of planting. Good citizens are rewarded with a complimentary beer and snacks. Reserve a spot, there aren’t many available.
It’s a full day at Discount Liquor Milwaukee. Bofferding hands out samples from noon to 3 p.m. and Fulton Brewing will be there from 3 to 6 p.m.
Try samples from Sprecher at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 3 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 22
Watch the Packers while swigging a Dogfish Head beer or two at The Brass Tap. The tap takeover includes an Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout. Get there at noon.
