Beer Events Brewing This Week: Nov. 6-12

The beer week starts with a bang on Monday when Stubby’s Pub taps a pair of outstanding barrel-aged stouts. It ends with an invigorating yoga session at Third Space Brewing. Namaste.

Monday, Nov. 6

The Packers/Lions matchup on Monday Night Football is a biggie. And Stubby’s (2060 N. Humboldt Ave.) is marking the occasion with a pair of big beers. At 5 p.m. Stubby’s is tapping Founders KBS Barrel-Aged Stout. At 6 p.m., the pub starts pouring Central Waters Black Gold Barrel-Aged Stout. Go Pack go!

Wednesday, Nov. 8

Against the Grain Brewery makes the trip from Louisville to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) to take over the taps. The tasting starts at 5 p.m.

Beers from the Pacific Northwest are the topic of discussion and tasting at the weekly meeting of the Milwaukee Beer Society. It all starts at 6 p.m. at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.).

Thursday, Nov. 9

The Uber Tap Room (1048 N. Old World Third St.) continues to deliver great tasting events. This week, it’s a pairing of four 3 Sheeps brews with four artisanal cheeses. The tasting starts at 6 p.m. and the cost is $14.

Brew City MKE (275 W. Wisconsin Ave.) hosts its first “Behind the Brew” event at 6 p.m.. The topic is Milwaukee Brewing’s use of barrel aging and the learning includes tastings of gin barrel-aged O-Gii and brandy barrel-aged Louie’s Resurrection. The cost is $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

Friday, Nov. 10

Sierra Nevada brings samples to Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 7 p.m.

Try beers from Surly Brewing at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 4 to 7 p.m.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is making some of the best IPAs in Milwaukee. Its Happy Happy Double IPA returns to the taproom this weekend.

Saturday, Nov. 11

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) opens its doors and releases a double dry hopped New England IPA named Desperately Wanting from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The brewery’s first IPA, Impatiently Waiting, was delicious. Expect the same from this release and expect it to sell out quickly.

City Lights and Untitled Art are both offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 3 p.m.

IPAs are the weekly free tasting at both Three Cellars locations (7228 S. 27th St. and N72 W13400 Lund Lane, Menomonee Falls) from 1 to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 12

Yoga in Your Third Space is a fantastic way to start your Sunday. A 60-minute yoga session at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and you then reward yourself with a beer. Bring a yoga mat and get there a few minutes early to get settled. The $15 cost includes a beverage.
