Beer Events Brewing This Week: May 2-6

Craft beer fans have plenty of events and tastings to help usher in May.

Tuesday, May 2

Beer School at Comet Café (1947 N. Farwell Ave.) tackles beers from Europe at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $25.


Wednesday, May 3

The Milwaukee Beer Society examines coffee beers at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $10.

Solemn Oath takes over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 5 p.m. The delicious Snaggletooth Bandana IPA will be one of the options.

Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.) hosts Shorts Brewing from 6 to 9 p.m.


Thursday, May 4

Solemn Oath and Third Space have some special tappings in store at Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) starting at 7 p.m.

The season grand opening of the Estabrook Park beer garden (4600 Estabrook Dr.) starts at 5:30 p.m. with free beer. It kicks off a full weekend of activities.


Friday, May 5

Sample brews from Solemn Oath from 4 to 7 p.m. at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) offers samples from Solemn Oath and Shorts from 4 to 7 p.m.


Saturday, May 6

Beers from 3 Sheeps are being sampled at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 3 p.m.

Dark colored/light bodied beers are the subjects of the weekly free tasting at both Three Cellars locations (7228 S. 27th St. and N72 W13400 Lund Lane, Menomonee Falls) from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Eye of the Beerholder Pub Crawl starts at Major Goolsby’s (340 W. Kilbourn Ave.) at 4 p.m. The fifth annual event benefits Fisher House Wisconsin, which serves families of veterans whose loved ones are undergoing hospitalization.
