Beer events this week include plenty of tastings and a beer run at Black Husky Brewing.
Wednesday, May 10
The Milwaukee Beer Society examines rye beers at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m.
Tighthead takes over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 5 p.m.
Uber Tap Room (1048 N. Old World Third St.) hosts a beer and cheese tasting with Third Space Brewing at 6 p.m. Pair four beers with four cheeses for $14.
The Milwaukee Craft Brewery League is taking over the taps at The Fermentorium (7481 Highway 60, Cedarburg) with beers from Milwaukee’s newest craft breweries from 4 to 10 p.m. Matthew Janzen will be there with some of the first copies of his visually impressive book, State of Craft Beer.
Thursday, May 11
The Crafter Space hosts a class exploring the details of saisons and grisettes at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) from 6 to 8 p.m. Third Space brewer Kevin Wright and Kyle Vetter from 1840 Brewing will discuss the styles and provide a few samples to go along with the discussion. Tickets are $22.
Try samples from Harpoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.).
Friday, May 12
Discount Liquor Waukesha hands out tastes of Central Waters from 3 to 6 p.m. and Third Space from 4 to 6 p.m.
Lakefront Brewery takes over the taps at the Humboldt Park Beer Garden (3000 S. Howell Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. It’s the first of many tap takeovers at the park.
Saturday, May 13
Pabst Milwaukee Brewery (1037 W. Juneau Ave.) celebrates its grand opening with a street party from 1 to 7 p.m. The free event gives beer drinkers a chance to try some of the new beers being brewed there and take in music from bands like legendary headliner Arrested Development.
Beers for mom are the subjects of the weekly free tasting at both Three Cellars locations (7228 S. 27th St. and N72 W13400 Lund Lane, Menomonee Falls) from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Brewery Running Series comes to Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) at 10 a.m. Run a 5K and reward yourself with a beer. Sounds good to me. Cost is $30.
Central Waters heads to Discount Liquor Milwaukee and promises a surprise pour between noon and 3 p.m.
World of Beer (418 N. Mayfair Rd.) hosts a beer fest with some local standouts in attendance including Raised Grain, Third Space, Milwaukee Brewing and The Fermentorium. The cost is $45 at the door or $40 presale by emailing Wauwatosa@worldofbeerusa.com. The tasting is from noon to 3:30 p.m.
City Lights Brewing (2210 W. Mt. Vernon Ave.) holds a “blessing of the beer” ceremony for its new release, Coconut Porter, at 1 p.m. The beer sounds amazing, and at just 5.5% ABV you can have a couple.
