Beer fest season ramps up this week with Milwaukee Firkin Beer Fest on a busy beer Saturday. That's just one reason this week to get out and about if you're a beer drinker.

Wednesday, June 5

Gathering Place Brewing takes over a few of the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 5 p.m. Some good brews are on the menu, including a 2017 Barrel-Aged Wonderworker Biere de Noel.

The Milwaukee Beer Society features sours in its weekly meeting at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) at 6 p.m. Cost is $20 for guests and $15 for members.

Cheers to The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) for hosting a teacher appreciation party. All teachers get 25% off of beer, wine and cocktails.


Thursday, June 6

The Beer Garden 5K series comes to Froemming Park (8801 S. 51st St.) at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $35.

Pollyanna Brewing makes the trip from Illinois to Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) for its first event in Wisconsin. Meet the owners and try one of five Pollyanna beers.


Firkin Fest

Saturday, June 8

Milwaukee Firkin Beer Fest comes to Cathedral Square Park (520 E. Wells St.) from 3 to 7:30 p.m. More than 40 breweries are participating. Tickets start at $50.

The Bottle Shop of Grafton and The 024 Craft Beer Bar are teaming up to host the second annual Beer on the Bridge Beer Fest at The 024 (1300 14th Ave., Grafton). More than 30 breweries will be there from noon until 5 p.m. Limited tickets start at $50.

Head to Pabst Milwaukee Brewery and Taproom (1037 W. Juneau Ave.) to snag a limited golden crowler of Name Day Chocolate Ale starting at 2 p.m. The beer honors the 175th anniversary of Pabst.

Seek the Good Saturday heads to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center (1111 E. Brown Deer Rd.) from 9 to 11 a.m. Pull weeds for a while and then reward yourself with a free beer at Good City Brewing (2108 N. Farwell Ave.) after you’re done.

Good City Brewing is also hosting an event for Milwaukee Bike Week in its Good City Hall where you can check out info from local riding groups and retailers. Around 2 p.m., the women’s cycling club Cadence will lead a ride from Good City to the Bicycle Federation – Wisconsin (3618 W. Pierce St.).

The Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival comes to the Waukesha County Expo Center (1000 Northview Rd.) from noon to 5 p.m. Plenty of local breweries are on the list. Tickets start at $5 ($10 at the door).


Sunday, June 9

The Fermentorium (7481 State Rd. 60, Cedarburg) hosts a Festive-Ale release party from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect beer, live music all day and complimentary bratwurst samples from LeRoy Meats.
