Champps Americana (1240 S. Moorland Rd.) hosts a benefit for legendary bar owner Mike Romans at 5 p.m. Expect some crazy limited beers on tap and a great silent auction. Proceeds help Romans cover expenses from cancer treatment.
The Milwaukee Beer Society celebrates its sixth anniversary with a tasting party at Best Place (923 W. Juneau Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. The members-only event costs $20 and tickets must be purchased in advance.
Meraki (939 S. 2nd St.) teams up with Indeed Brewing for a five-course beer dinner. For $60 you get dinner and six beers from Indeed. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m.
It’s National Hot Sauce Day. Who knew? Anyway, Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) is marking the occasion by offering five different buffalo wing sauces and flights of buffalo wings. They’re also hosting a hot wing challenge, where bold competitors eat five extremely hot wings and answer trivia questions in less than five minutes.
Thursday, Jan. 23
Head to Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.) at 6 p.m. for blind taste test battle between Lakefront Brewery and New Glarus.
The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) is tapping an amazing list of rarities from Revolution Brewing, including many of its Deep Woods Series beers. Cafe Deth Imperial Stout is just one of the many gems on tap and one of my favorite beers from 2019.
Beer and sausage? Yes, please. Glorioso’s Italian Market (1011 E. Brady St.) is hosting a beer, cheese and sausage tasting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35.
Pair cheese and beer, and brush up on your French, at the Québec Cheese and Wisconsin Beer Tasting at The Plaza Hotel (1007 N. Cass St.). Cost is $10, or $5 is you’re a member of Alliance Française or Délégation du Québec.

Saturday, Jan. 25
Explorium Brewpub (5300 S. 76th St.) celebrates its third anniversary with a party and the release of 3rd Anniversary Imperial Stout aged in Blanton’s bourbon barrels. Get there at 11 a.m. when it starts.
Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) hosts its annual Ice Bear Fest from noon to 5 p.m. To mark the release of Ice Bear Baltic Porter they’re hosting an 80s-themed apres ski party. Wear your best neon snow suit. For $15 you can get a bright green headband and mug for the party. The mug means you get your first beer free and $1 off beers all day.
Racine Brewing Company (303 Main St., Racine) is hosting a beer bus tour of Milwaukee. Get to Racine Brewing at 11 a.m. for a beer before hopping on the bus at 11:30 a.m. It’s making stops at Eagle Park Brewing, Best Place and Broken Bat Brewing before returning by 6 p.m. Cost is just $40.
Romans’ Pub (3475 Kinnickinnic Ave.) is tapping a keg of Central Waters Black Gold Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout at 6 p.m.
Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) is hosting an art pop-up show from 5 to 8 p.m. Check out artwork by Renee Bebeau, Amy Schmutte and Joe Zoltak.
