The bar at 1840 Brewing

Beer Events Brewing This Week in Milwaukee: May 5-9

Taprooms may not be open, but beer releases are still happening and local brewers are offering up some outstanding brews. This week, Gathering Place Brewing, Sahale Ale Works and 1840 Brewing lead the way by offering beers worth checking out.

Tuesday, May 5

Beginning this week, Good City Brewing will have its beer available for curbside shoppers at Mayfair Mall. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, Good City will offer beer pickup out of a bank drive through in the Mayfair North Office Tower.

The $30 Cinco de Mayo Kit includes koozies, a six-pack of Oddball Kolsch Style Ale, lime juice from Juiced!, Mama’s Boy salsa and bad of corn tortilla chips from Hernandez. And, at 5:30 p.m. they’re hosting a beer-ga-rita mixing demo on Zoom.

The Fermentorium (7481 State Rd. 60, Cedarburg) hosts a socially distant Cinco de Mayo from noon to 7 p.m. The brewery is releasing Sombrilla De Lima Mexican Lager and That Taco Guy will be there too. Swing by to pick up all the goods you need for a fine Tuesday.

Friday, May 8

Brewer Matt Hoffmann is offering plenty of style choices with four new beers being released this weekend at Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton). This list includes a barrel-aged This is For The Hustlas! Blonde Ale with Coffee, Brew the Jewels Mixed Culture Golden Ale, Fluid Situation: Blueberry Cheesecake Ale made with lactose and Fluid Situation: Graham Cracker Ale. Order online and then pick them up between 4 and 7 p.m. on Friday and noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

1840 Brewing is opening for to-go orders from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and there’s a really good reason to go. Any Eighteen Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout bottles that are left after a VIP presale will be available for reservation starting at 9 a.m. on Friday and pickup later in the day. 1840 will also be selling Bless Up Lager over the weekend. It’s a big day.

For this week’s brewmaster’s toast at 5:45 p.m., Third Space is recommending that you join them with a Java Blanca Coffee Cream Ale in hand. The beer is uniquely delicious, and you can get a six-pack of it and a pound of Stone Creek coffee for just $20 at the brewery.

Indeed Brewing is leading the #HelloMilwaukee virtual toast at 5 p.m. Raise a glass, take a photo and post it on social media with the #HelloMilwaukee hashtag.
