Milwaukee Beer Week starts on Saturday. Ease yourself in with a few events this week.

Tuesday, April 10

Head to Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.) at 5 p.m. to indulge in tasty meat pies from the Drift MKE food truck and wash them down with beers from Sierra Nevada.

OddSide Ales takes over six of the taps at Finks (1875 N. Humboldt Ave.) at 6 p.m. The list includes a rare barrel of Rye Hipster Brunch Stout on nitro.

Beer Academy at Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For $15 you can learn about the origins of different beer styles and taste a few.

Wednesday, April 11

The Milwaukee Beer Society is sampling the wildly popular New England IPA at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. Keep an eye on the event page to see what hazy brews are on the menu.

Thursday, April 12

Bierklasse returns to Café Hollander (2608 N. Downer Ave.) with ‘Tis the Saison, an exploration and sampling of saisons that includes special guests John and Danny McMahon of Door County Brewing Company. The event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. and costs $35.

Friday, April 13

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) releases a new brew. Head to the brewery to try La Cocina Dark Mexican Lager.

Saturday, April 14

Kick off Milwaukee Beer Week in style with KBS Fest at Ray’s Wine & Spirits (8930 W. North Ave.). Get there well before the doors open at 8 a.m. if you want to be sure you get a four-pack of KBS. They’ll have other rarities for sale and goodies being tapped in the Growler Gallery. KBS starts flowing upstairs at 10 a.m.

Sunday, April 15

Crafts & Drafts Spring Beer Fest at Serb Hall (5101 W. Oklahoma Ave.) is easily one of the best annual beer events in the area. The fest is sponsored by Discount Liquor and features a slew of barrel-aged beers and rarities. Tickets start at $55 and the event benefits the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
