15 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Apr. 23-27

Bock beer rules the week with events at Kegel’s Inn, Hart Park, and Falcon Bowl. Prost!

Wednesday, April 23

It’s Bockfest Week at Kegel’s Inn (5901 W. National Ave.), which means fun activities all week. It begins with hot poker night on Wednesday. Kegel’s will be plunging a hot poker into four different bock beers.

Young Blood Beer Co. is taking over the taps at Ray’s Bar (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m.

Thursday, April 24

Black Puppy Days are happening at Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) from Thursday to Sunday. One dollar from every Black Puppy Pale Ale and Li’l Sue Blood Orange Wheat benefits the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Saturday, April 26

Bockfest at Kegel’s Inn culminates with a street festival open to the public from to 9 p.m. They’ll be throwing a release party for Brau Buddies, a collab between Lakefront Brewery and Hofbräu München. A $35 VIP tickets gives you access to a firkin tapping from noon to 1 p.m., unlimited bock sampling, and cool swag. A $25 sampling ticket lets you try all sorts of bocks from noon to 4 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Battle of the Bock commences. It’s a contest that pits couples against each other in different beer-related competitions. Team registration is required.

Make it a day of bocks by heading to Bockbierfest at Hart Park (7300 W. Chestnut St.) from 1 to 9 p.m. The festivities include beers from Hofbräu München, German music and food, and a stein holding competition, of course. Tickets are $10 at the door and $8 in advance.

Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) wraps up the Battle of the Breweries beer can tab drive. Reps from Ronald McDonald House Charities will be there from 2 to 7 p.m. You get a free pour with donations can tab donations that fill a sandwich bag.

Spring Beer Fest comes to The Landing at Hoyt Park (1800 N. Swan Blvd.). Sample more than 40 beers from a dozen standout breweries for just $30.

Zócalo Food Park (636 S. 6th St.) is the location of Michelada Fest, presented by Pilot Project Brewing. From noon to 4 p.m. you can sample the best micheladas the city has to offer, and vote on your favorite. Tickets are $24.99.

Three Cellars (N72 W13400 Lund Ln.) celebrates its ninth anniversary with a party that includes the release of an anniversary beer collaboration with Young Blood Beer Co. Wear your best 90s costume for a chance at winning a free bar tab.

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) is releasing three barrel-aged beers at noon. The options are a Cognac barrel-aged barleywine, a brown ale aged in rum barrels, and an imperial stout aged in a mead barrel.

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) host the 2025 Tim-vitational at 1 p.m. Six strong athletes will compete at lifting very heavy things.

Dead Bird Brewing (1726 Dr. William Finlayson St.) hosts a one-hour yoga session at 10 a.m. The $25 ticket earns you a free drink when you’re done.

Sunday, April 27

The 37th Blessing of the Bock takes place at Falcon Bowl (801 E. Clarke St.) starting at noon. For $35 you can sample beer from more than one dozen local breweries.

Shopping for “nerdy” art? Pilot Project (1128 N. 9th St.) has you covered. Nerdwaukee: Artists Alley is geek-themed art craft fair and it’s happening at Pilot Project from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) hosts a plant swap and sale from noon to 4 p.m.

Saturday, May 31: Lager & Friends comes to Gathering Place. The beer fest is in its seventh year.
