Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week … and Beyond

This week in beer land is slowww. The good news is that there are a long list of big craft beer events just around the corner. Now’s the time to take a look at what’s coming soon and clear your social calendar.

It’s not a particularly strong slate of beer events for this post-holiday week, so we’re using the opportunity to mark our calendars with a bunch of upcoming happenings. But first, this week’s short list…

Tuesday, Jan 6

Another Paint & Sip is coming to Faklandia Brewpub (3807 S. Packard Ave., St. Francis) at 6 p.m. This time around you’ll learn to paint a scene from Peanuts. Tickets are $25.

Sunday, Jan. 11

The Riverwest Farmers Market returns to Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) from 11 to 3 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 20: Explorium Brewpub Greendale is hosting its Ninth Anniversary Beer Dinner. The five-course event begins at 6 p.m. and costs $83.

Friday-Saturday, Jan. 23-24: Inventors Brewpub (305 E. Washington St., Port Washington) is the location for two days of craft beer celebration. Friday is a Homebrew Expo that includes a homebrew competition and equipment swap. That’s followed by the Winter Beer Invitational on Saturday, where more than 20 breweries will be pouring seasonal brews.

Saturday, Jan. 24: Waukesha’s excellent North Pillar Brewing (winner of our Best of the Burbs Readers Choice vote for Brewery Taproom) is celebrating its second anniversary with general festivities and at least three beers to mark the occasion.

Saturday, Jan. 31: Dust off your best fluorescent snowsuit because the annual Ice Bear Fest is coming to Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). The 80s-themed après ski party starts at noon.

Saturday, Jan. 31: Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) is opening up its terrace for Craft S’mores and Pours, a chance to drink barrel-aged beer and make s’mores over several fire stations.

Saturday, Feb. 7: Mittenfest, the massive annual block party at Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.), is happening from noon to 8 p.m. It always includes live music, food and some rare high-octane beers to help keep you warm.

Saturday, Feb. 21: The last Food & Froth in the current Milwaukee Public Museum space (800 W. Wells St.) takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets start at $100 and are likely to sell out.

Sunday, Feb. 22: Every year Ray’s Wine & Spirits (8930 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa) teams up with Three Floyds Brewing to host a block party to raise a glass (and a middle finger) to winter. Wückfinter is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. this year.
