Yes, we’re definitely thinking about the Milwaukee Brewers’ Opening Day (April 6). Last summer, a consumption-based visit to Miller Park led to the discovery of intriguing morsels such as The Beast (a footlong brat stuffed with a hot dog and wrapped in bacon). I don’t know if the Beast is back this year, but the park is bringing in a couple of new, name-recognized food vendors for 2015. They are Smoke Shackand Holey Moley Coffee and Doughnuts. You likely know one or both from their Third Ward locations. Their sister restaurant AJ Bombers already has a stand at Miller Park (added last year).
Smoke Shack will offer Kansas City BBQ eggrolls and sandwiches like Carolina pulled pork, smoked chicken and BBQ seitan. Holey Moley’s lineup will include fritters and cake, yeast-raised and filled doughnuts. Also Brewers-themed doughnuts and a secret specialty doughnut sandwich. MKE’s Hawthorne Coffee will be the featured roaster at Holey Moley.
