Bavette la Boucherie, the restaurant/butcher shop that opened in the Third Ward (330 E. Menomonee St.) close to nine years ago, is getting new digs., owner Karen Bell has revealed. The new space is just a few blocks away – the former Swig (217 N. Broadway), which closed back in 2018.
When Bavette moves, its next-door neighbor will be the Italian restaurant Onesto. Bell attributes the decision to move to the limitations of her current space, which she says the restaurant had outgrown. Another key point is the new space comes equipped with a full kitchen with a hood, something the current space lacks. The new space will also have an expanded retail section. The ETA for the move is early 2022.
“We will miss our current home and neighbors, but are very excited for this new chapter! Thank you for all the support over the years! Stay tuned as things develop,” Karen wrote via email.
