5 Milwaukee Bakeries Offering Baking Kits Right Now

As we navigate through this very uncertain time, our local bakeries are doing some extra sweet things – kits! – to keep up our spirits. Here are five great examples.

1. Aggie’s Bakery | 7328 W. Greenfield Ave., 414-482-1288

Do you know someone (or many someones) who could use a little cheer? Aggie’s Bakery can send him, her or them a Goody Gram – a doughnut 12-pack ($12), jumbo cupcakes (6- or 12-pack, $20 or $35) or a build-your-own cupcake kit that includes vanilla buttercream and toppings ($36). Delivery charges vary.

2. Classy Girl Cupcakes | 825 N. Jefferson St., 414-270-1877

Something to keep you – and your family– busy during this month of self-sequestering: Classy Girl Cupcakes’ four-week baking kit subscription. Week 1 is a cupcake kit, enough batter for 12 cupcakes, plus buttercream frosting in a piping bag, sprinkles and cupcake liners. Week 2 is a cupcake truffle kit, enough to make 12-15 truffles. In Week 3, you’ll make cookie sandwiches, and in Week 4, mini cakes! The subscription is available for curbside pickup or delivery. $130.

3. Cranky Al’s | 6901 W. North Ave., Tosa, 414-258-5282

Pick-me-up for a rambunctious kid – or hubby or, well, yourself: Cranky Al’s calls it their Kid Quarantine Kit. We call it heaven. What it features is six yeast-raised doughnuts, chocolate icing, vanilla icing, M&Ms, Oreos and rainbow sprinkles. $12, and you’ll want to pre-order this beauty.

4. Miss Molly’s Cafe & Pastry Shop | 9201 W. Center St., 414-249-5665

Savory, as well as sweet: Miss Molly’s Café & Pastry Shop has a great café menu, and you can get your dinner and dessert fix in one fell swoop. Miss Molly’s Dinner Meal Kits feed four and range from shredded chicken enchiladas with Mexican street corn salad to baked ricotta ziti with Caesar salad and garlic bread. And each kit comes with eight mini salted chocolate chip cookies. Available for pickup or delivery, nightly 4-6 p.m. $40, plus $8 for delivery.

5. Miss Cupcake Boutique Bakery | 3801 N. Oakland Ave., 414-810-3997

The little to-go window that could: Miss Cupcake Boutique Bakery in Shorewood now has a to-go window. Besides that awesome news, the Shorewood sweet shop is offering its own version of a quarantine box. This one’s got a lot of variety, featuring six cake balls, one red velvet whoopie pie, one bar cookie from a selection (Oreo, campfire, etc.) and four cookies. $25; free local delivery on orders over $20. Miss Cupcake is also doing themed cupcake kits for kids – dinosaurs, unicorns or mermaids.
