While looking through the photo’s from the opening night I stopped on these images like a magpie attracted to tinfoil.  This spangled tunic feels like a fresh take on the disco aesthetic of YSL at Studio 54. It covers what it needs to, and feels sexy at the same time.  In a modern interpretation of 70’s sass, Malaysian designer Bernard Chandran brings Eastern influence and structure to what could have been a more bohemian look.  I love the color, and the interesting hemline.  It is chic and simple without being severe. The hand beading of the garment is a work of art in itself.  It looks great coming and going.  A fashion hit of the highest order.

Jakarta Fashion Week is organized by event management company Azura Activation, which is a subsidiary of Femina Group, a publishing company, which since its founding in 1971 has been active in promoting the Indonesian fashion industry through various editorial initiatives and events.

The language of fashion is global, with each continent, country, and city bringing another flavor to the melting pot of style.
