Our nation lives to work…. instead of working to live. When I’m old and looking back at my life at what I’ve done and accomplished, I want to answer more than “I worked.” I think that it’s important to work to make a living, not live to work.
We want everything fast and convenient. Fast food, fast cars, speeding, road rage, self check-outs, i-Phones, i-Pad’s, phone apps, etc. We read reviews on the upcoming electronics so we can have the best and the fastest software out there.
We want fast results when it comes to our appearance, but we are in no hurry to take care of ourselves. We want the quickest weight loss remedy – pills, supplements, surgeries, weight loss programs, and exercise programs to get the results quicker. Weight loss isn’t magic… it’s just taking accountability for yourself. You are what you eat = Fact. Eat better, feel better, look better. It’s simple. No gimmicks, no spending money on quick fixes, just simply eat right and exercise. Save yourself the money on quick fixes.
We feed our families with what’s quick and convenient because we are always in a hurry. Packaged foods, TV dinners, boxed food, many canned products, etc. This is all stuffed full of preservatives, chemicals, dyes and sugars. The average american consumes 22 teaspoons of sugar a DAY!
People believe what the advertising says. We need to become better label readers! It’s scary that so many people just grab this stuff of the shelves and go, without knowing what’s in it. Look at the labels next time you are at the store. Can you pronounce half of the ingredients in it? Do you know what the ingredients mean? If not, you know it’s not good for you. Don’t ever buy something simply because the label says “Fat Free” “Low Fat” “Diet” “Low Carb”… in fact, most of this stuff is terrible for you!
American’s are so stressed out from being so tired all the time for taking on too much in life. We fuel ourselves daily with caffiene, soda’s, energy drinks, power bars and candies.
Family dinner in the american families are becoming less and less. The tv is on, and people have out their phones while they text while they eat. Next time you go out to eat, notice the amount of people in the restaurant that are on their phones or texting. It’s a lot!
Our way of how we cure ourselves of sickness and colds is quick and convenient. We run to the store or reach in our medicine cabinet for cold remedies and cough syrups that serve as a band-aid to our symptoms.
Our doctors are so quick to write out prescriptions for any little thing we say pains us. I have suffered with sinus infections/upper respiratory infections 2-4x’s a year all of my life, and the doctor writes out a prescription for an antibiotic, ear drops, inhaler, preventative inhaler and nasal spray. I just needed the antibiotic in reality… so I never filled my other prescriptions. I’m not out to support drug companies.
When you watch television, especially during the daytime… every other commercial is a drug commerial. It comes with 30 seconds of listed side effects and warnings. How come there aren’t commercials for natural supplements and remedies? They don’t have side effects….!
Here’s another quick story. I went to the doctor with a complaint of panic attacks back in 2010, and with my doctor only asking very few questions (in my opinion, not enough to assess a diagnosis), my doctor slapped a prescription at me for 2 different anti-depressant medications and was out the door to see his next patient. I didn’t need the medication. Period. What I needed was counseling to iron out some things from my past… and a better diet! I’m 100% positive that what started my panic attacks was my use of soda, latte’s, candy and coffee that led to the panic attacks. I’m sure of it. I’ve elimitated this from my diet for over a year and I’ve been panic attack free. I also know a few other people that suffered with debilitating panic attacks, and since eliminating it from their diets, they also have been panic attack free.
There are REMEDIES out there that are all natural. There are also all natural supplements, essential oils, and holistic medicine practice that serve as preventatives to getting sick. Eastern & Western Medicine is genius if you really take the time to learn about it, as opposed to much of today’s modern medicine practiced here in the US. No side effects. Getting back to eating the garden the way God intended us to.
Modern medicine repulses me. This is just my opinion, again not trying to offend anyone. I understand that there are some exceptions where we need to take prescribed drugs…. but honestly, if we ATE right and exercised, stressed less and loved more… we wouldn’t have the health problems we do. High blood pressure, cholesterol, pain….just to name a very few, all can be avoided with eating and exercising.
