- Slender Man costumes have been found on the racks of Halloween stores in Waukesha County, jsonline.com reports. This is in the wake of the May 31 stabbing of a girl in a Waukesha by two girls who told police they were trying to gain the favor of a fictitious character known as Slender Man.
- The world is now a better place. A fuller place. The Chick-fil-A location in Brookfield opened today at 6:30 a.m. The genteel person who answered the phone this morning told me to, “Come on down!”
- A little bird told me it’s National Cheeseburger Day. If you’re so inclined, visit the local mom-and-pop burger emporium of your choosing, be it Sobelman’s, AJ Bombers, Oscar’s on Pierce or [insert applicable name here].
- Actor Sean Astin, of The Lord of the Rings fame, will make a guest appearance at the 2014 Milwaukee Film Festival. Astin stars in the film The Surface, about a man stranded on Lake Michigan. The festival starts Thursday, Sept. 25.
- Airline passenger shaming – it’s a thing. The website, aptly titled PassengerShaming.com, posts photos of offensive behavior submitted by flight attendants and passengers.
