Happy Monday! Here’s what we’re reading this morning.
- Ald. Bob Donovan has a “special political announcement” planned for tomorrow night, and there’s speculation that he could be announcing his intention to run for mayor.
- Rep. Paul Ryan was on Meet the Press yesterday morning, where he discussed the border crisis, gridlock in Congress, and his new “anti-poverty” plan. NBC News has the full interview online.
- Early voting begins today in Wisconsin for the Aug. 12 primary election. It’s the first election to be held under new early voting limitations. WUWM has more.
- The Wisconsin State Journal interviewed organic farmer Vernon Hershberger, who says life is good now that he’s no longer fighting legal battles over his raw milk production. (Hershberger was featured in Milwaukee Magazine‘s March, 2014, feature story “Raw Deal.”)
- The Green Bay Packers signed 29-year-old wide receiver Jordy Nelson to a four-year, $39 million contract extension over the weekend. It’s now only 11 days until the Packers’ first preseason game. Time to get excited, cheeseheads.
