The beauty of our Morning Links is that you never know what you will find:

  • Waukesha police are alerting residents that a sex offender, recently released from prison, is homeless and doesn’t quality for GPS monitoring.

  • A North Carolina man has videotaped his “Hot Car Challenge.” Terry Williams says he decided to undertake the challenge of sitting in a hot car, with the windows rolled up, to draw attention to the deaths of children in hot cars.

  • Madison’s Isthmus Publishing Co. has been sold. The new owners include a former Green Bay Packers player.

  • The 2014 Emmy nominations were announced this morning. If you’re a “Game of Thrones” fan, this will rock your world. The same goes for fans of (Kenosha native) Mark Ruffalo.
  • They say God is everywhere. Baton Rouge, even. A restaurant worker in the Louisiana city was chopping up eggplant when he says he discovered the seeds inside the fruit (yes, eggplant is a fruit) formed the word “GOD.”

Ann Christenson has covered dining for Milwaukee Magazine since 1997. She was raised on a diet of casseroles that started with a pound of ground beef and a can of Campbell's soup. Feel free to share any casserole recipes with her.
