Take a step forward if you thought all-girl heavy metal outfit Kittie was more than just an MTV-sired novelty act when it first hit the scene in the late ‘90s. Not so fast, everyone. Still, Kittie has shown it belongs in the same breath as its metallic male counterparts through aggressive touring, utter persistence and distinct talent in a primarily masculine genre. The lineup has in4curred a number of changes over the years, but Kittie remains. Blackguard, Bonded By Blood, and Candy Machine Guns open. (2401 W. Wisconsin Ave., TheRave.com)

This isn’t Nick Lowe’s first rodeo. The English producer, punk rock icon, Elvis Costello collaborator and songwriter can also step up from behind the scenes and take the lead. He and his band will perform with the opening support of a special guest. (1032 N. 4th St., PabstTheater.org)

Technicolor Teeth has a unique ability to bounce seamlessly between genres, touching shoegaze and punk rock with a tinge of pop appeal tucked beneath the surface. Its latest, teenage pagans, is an encouraging effort from a promising band of young locals. Moss Folk, Red Stuff, and Hairolina open. (2496 S. Wentworth Ave., CactusClubMilwaukee.com)
