Fresh Fall 2011 Color Trends

Fall is my favorite season for fashion. Not only for clothing and accessories, but the vibrant and rich hair color, makeup, nails etc… This is what we’ve seen rise above the rest! Feather Extensions To be honest, I wasn’t really sure how well the feather extensions would go over at my salon, Carenza. Boy were we surprised! We are always selling out of our feather stock, and new clients are constantly hoping to squeeze in for an appointment to get their fix! Fun fact: feather extensions are so popular, feathers are even selling out of fishing stores and fishermen can’t…

Feather Extensions

To be honest, I wasn’t really sure how well the feather extensions would go over at my salon, Carenza. Boy were we surprised! We are always selling out of our feather stock, and new clients are constantly hoping to squeeze in for an appointment to get their fix! Fun fact: feather extensions are so popular, feathers are even selling out of fishing stores and fishermen can’t get any for their bait! Awe :’( But hey, we wanna look pretty so… too bad. They are really cute, and I think you’ll be seeing more bohemian/native trends coming our way! I was lucky to help buy pre-fall clothing for my boutique, Next Door. What did we notice?  Expect native patterns on jackets and sweaters. Fur trim on EVERYTHING, faux fur vests and blanket cardigans with tassels.

Ombre Hair Color

Gone are the days where dark roots are BAD! This great trend called “ombre” has your ends light and slowly becoming darker towards the root. The outgrowth line is very diffused. We like!!

Smash Coloring
Bright dramatic color used as peek-a-boo high lights or just an accent color around the face. This can either be put in permanently with hair color, or with the use of a clip in extension. A little history: it started out on the streets in London where the kids would wet brightly colored chalk and then color pieces of their hair for a temporary bold look.

Chanel usually sets the trend for nail polish year after year, and this fall it looks like metallics will rule our world!

Which trends do you think you will try?
