Doors Open Milwaukee Announces 2013 Locations

Now in its third year, Doors Open Milwaukee will allow locals to check out the inner workings of the buildings they might only ever see from the outside. On Sept. 21 and 22, doors will be opening at Wisconsin Gas Building, Soldiers Home, Century City Business Park, The Moderne, Charles Allis Art Museum, the Clock Shadow Building, Polaris at the Hyatt Regency, the Global Water Center and Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge. Plus many more. Most importantly, Warehouse No. 1, which houses the Milwaukee Magazine offices, will again be open to the public. A full list of this year’s participating locations can be found…

Claire Hanan worked at the magazine as an editor from 2012-2017. She edited the Culture section and wrote stories about all sorts of topics, including the arts, fashion, politics and more. In 2016, she was a finalist for best profile writing at the City and Regional Magazine Awards for her story "In A Flash." In 2014, she won the the Milwaukee Press gold award for best public service story for editing "Handle With Care," a service package about aging in Milwaukee. Before all this, she attended the University of Missouri's School of Journalism and New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.
