Mo Fro
This is shaping up to be the summer of frozen yogurt. Wauwatosa now has the bustling Yo Mama! (1349 Wauwatosa Ave., 414-988-5365), same block as Le Rêve Patisserie & Cafe. The shop is the DIY of frozen treat shops. You pick your yogurt flavor (or flavors) and toppings from self-serve machines. The clerk weighs your yogurt-filed dish. The price is based on weight. Now it’s the East Side’s turn. Coming soon to Brady Street is Berry Me (1320 E. Brady, in the old Aala Reed space). Co-owner Omer Ulu says the shop will offer 10 flavors of frozen yogurt (in non-fat and low-fat varieties). There will also be nondairy options, as well. The format sounds very similar to Yo Mama! You will choose your cup size, yogurt flavor and toppings (which will include fresh fruit, cereal, cookies, sprinkles, candies and syrups). Berry Me may be open before the end of June.

A Good Year
Imagine it’s the summer of 1969. What would you be doing? Watching Apollo 11 land on the moon? Heading to Woodstock? Burning bras? You don’t need to relive that. But you can relive the culinary nostalgia. This summer, Mason Street Grill is running a menu that spotlights classic dishes like wedge salad, filet mignon with béarnaise sauce, shrimp scampi, herb-crusted chicken, cheesecake and (executive chef) Mark Weber’s carrot cake. It’s three courses at a fixed price. The menu runs through Labor Day, Sept. 5. $35 per person; $69 for 2 diners. (Pfister Hotel, 425 E. Mason St., 414-298-3131)
