Pabst fans are still rallying to bring the now-for-sale Pabst Brewing Co. back home to Milwaukee.
Since the article Bringing Back Pabst published last week, the website bringPBRhome.com has fully launched, and on the site lives two open letters supporters can sign: one to current Pabst owner, Dean Metropoulos (45 signatures) and one directed to the Milwaukee Common Council (44 signatures). The website went live on the evening of Monday, March 17.
Facebook group co-administrator, Susie Seidelman, hopes to have at least 1,000 signatures per open letter before sending them on to its recipients. Here are some content snippets from each open letter.
Current Pabst owner, Dean Metropoulos
“We write today asking you to give us first crack at purchasing Pabst. We’re not a billionaire investor, but we are thousands of people with a plan. If you can give us the time and the opportunity, we can find the capital. We’ll make it worth your while.”
Milwaukee Common Council
“Our proposal is simple – with the help of hundreds of thousands of small investors, the City of Milwaukee purchases Pabst. We create an ownership model where no one investor can carry enough of a share to ever sell or relocate the business. We create a sustainable revenue stream for the City and hundreds of good, secure jobs for its people. Transformation occurs.”
