Phil Vassar drinking an “Adult Lemonade,” a drink Spiked Island with launch at Festa Italiana.
Country fans and Italian enthusiasts alike, get excited for country music star Phil Vassar to bring you “Just Another Day In Paradise” at Festa Italiana July 22.
He announced he would be headlining the festival Monday morning at Bradford Beach and on Milwaukee’s Country FM 106.1 WMIL.
Vassar, who has been named songwriter of the year twice, has been at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts has become a Nashville household name. Somehow he still manages to make his way to Milwaukee for his 11th year in a row. Although you might recognize him as a regular at Summerfest, (he was at the Briggs and Stratton Stage on Saturday,) this will be his Festa debut.
And Vassar said he returns every year because of his Brew City fans . “They love us and we love them. It’s mutual admiration” he says. “I love the soul of this town.”
He called summertime in Milwaukee “off the chain” and reveled that Milwaukee to him is simply a “music town.” On another note, Vassar, who also owns an Italian restaurant in Nashville, said of all the food he could choose from at Festa he was most looking forward to eating a Milwaukee Italian sausage. Buon Appetite!
If it wasn’t for his slight Virginia accent and Nashville manners, one would probably mistake him for a true Milwaukeean. Maybe settle for honorary?
Vassar will take the stage at 8:30 at the Spiked Island Stage after Old Dominion kicks off at 7:30. No extra fee is required – just the $13 fee to be admitted into the grounds. The sponsor, Spiked Island, will also launch their new brand of alcoholic lemonade at the concert, and will be selling them for $3 a pop.
Festa Italiana will take place at the Summerfest grounds from Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22. For more information on Festa Italiana, check out www.festaitaliana.com.
