Axed Aide Back at Work

David Crowley, 25, the county aide fired by outgoing County Board Chairman Lee Holloway, is back at work. David Crowley, 25, the county aide fired by outgoing County Board Chairman Lee Holloway, is back at work.

Today, Supervisor Nikiya Harris said in a press release that she was “ecstatic” for Crowley’s return. “David’s experience as an organizer both at the state and community levels give him the skill set, experience and knowledge to help me serve the 2nd District with professionalism and integrity,” she added.

Earlier this month, Holloway used his powers as chairman to dismiss Crowley under nebulous circumstances. According to the JS’s Dan Bice, “some supposed slight” was to blame. Sources told him that Crowley “may have failed to address Holloway as ‘chairman’ when the two bumped into one another at a local gym.”

Holloway’s successor, Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic, was elected by the board last week. She’s the second woman to serve as the board’s chair. The first, Karen Ordinans, was one of several supervisors recalled in 2002 during the county pension scandal.
