It’s a rare occurrence that you meet someone personally that is so talented they stop you in your tracks. I’ve had the privilege of watching Trisha Lysaght of Carenza grow in to one of the most talented updo stylists I know. We started working together as stylists in 2009, and it became quickly apparent that Trisha stood out from the rest. I remember being in bridal updo classes with a few of my younger colleagues, and as we struggled to pull our mannequins’ hair into the perfect chignon, we’d look over and see Trisha standing quietly with the perfect updo – complete with her own special twist. Basically, she schooled all of us and soon became the educator for wedding and special event hair.
While Trisha now is booked with nearly every bride that chooses Carenza for their special day, the Carenza staff also hopes she will be available to do their own hair for the walk down the aisle. Watching her create this wearable art is fascinating, and I’ve learned so much from her. Not only can she do wedding hair, but creating vintage looks such as pinning long hair to look like Marilyn Monroe, or editorial designs are a breeze. Only in her 20s, the possibilities are endless for where Trisha could bring her talents. I’m excited to see where life takes Trisha, because its undoubtedly going to be exciting!

With her experience, Trisha has now decided to take her love of event hair to the stage. On July 20, Trisha will be styling six models for a runway show titled “Figments Of Expression” Hair and Makeup Showcase. Only seven talented stylists were chosen out of many. The show is set to take place at the Humphrey Scottish Rite Center at 6:30 p.m. It’s a unique runway experience, as the focus is on the talent of hair and makeup artists instead of clothing. Each stylist has a theme around which they must style their models. What is Trisha’s theme? You’ll have to go to the show to find out!
