8 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Dec. 29-Jan. 2

Happy New Year, beer fans!

Wednesday, Dec. 29

Epic Brewing is bringing some new 2021 Big Bad Baptist Series brews to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m. Ray’s will also be pouring Tart n’ Juicy Sour IPA and Citralush Hazy IPA.

Hoppy Resolution Double West Coast IPA hits the taplines when 1840 Brewing Co. (342 E. Ward St.) opens at 4 p.m. Bottles are available for preorder on Friday at 9 a.m. and can be picked up from noon to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Thursday, Dec. 30

End 2021 with some altruism. Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukehsa) hosts Give a Pint! Get a Pint! from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop in and donate blood, and you get a coupon for a free pint of beer. Seems like a fair trade.

Friday, Dec. 31

Head to New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) before any big plans you have. They’re open from 3 to 9 p.m. and are having a complimentary beer toast at 8 p.m.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) ends 2021 by releasing Nice Day IPA. The juicy IPA is available in cans and on draft starting at noon.

If you just can’t make it to midnight, head to the Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) in the afternoon. They’ll be ringing in the new year at Munich time, which is 5 p.m. The festivities start at 4 p.m. and include live music and buffet of German food. Be sure to make a reservation.

Breweries like Vennture, Indeed, Enlightened, Explorium and Faklandia (currently) have late-night plans to ring in the new year. Check with your favorite brewery or beer bar to see if they have any festivities around saying goodbye to 2021.

Sunday, Jan. 2

During the Packers/Vikings game, Milwaukee Brewing Company (1128 N. 9th St.) is hosting an open house. Come watch the game, talk to the staff, and sample a few of their beers while doing it.
