Trouble Makers Cocina is back for another beer dinner at Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) and this time they’re teaming up with Chicago’s outstanding Cruz Blanca Brewery. The four-course dinner runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and costs $55.
Thursday, Aug. 5
The annual ritual that is the Wisconsin State Fair begins. It provides ample opportunity from now until Aug. 15 to indulge with all sorts of beer and myriad fried food items.

What’s Brew City’s best? We’ve picked 16 of our favorite Milwaukee craft beers for a March Madness-style tournament, but it’s up to you to pick the winner! Will it be bright and hoppy? Dark and malty? A zippy lager? Every one is worthy of the title; who will claim the sudsy crown?
Raised Grain Brewing’s pop-up beer garden comes to Muskego Park (S83 W20370 Janesville Rd.) for the weekend. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Binary: Games, Food & Spirits (9105 W. Lincoln Ave.) hosts Beer School at 6 p.m. Try brews from the likes of Drekker and More Brewing and take home two beers for later. Cost is just $35.
Friday, Aug. 6
The weekly release at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is available only on draft. Sunflower Dress is a copper blonde made with sunflower seeds and honey. Head to 1840 at 3 p.m. to try some.
1840 Brewing’s traveling beer garden comes to Frontier Park (5400 N. Park Drive) in Butler.
Saturday, Aug. 7
The Milwaukee County Historical Society hosts a beer garden bike tour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It begins at the MCHS (910 N. Old World Third St.) and spends time at beer gardens in Hubbard Park, Estabrook Park and Old Heidelberg Park. Cost is $40 a person.
Honey Creek Park (8405 W. National Ave.) gets a visit from 1840 Brewing’s traveling beer garden.
