If you like the idea of New Year’s Eve but not into staying up past midnight, Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) has you covered. They’re hosting a Swedish New Year’s Eve party from 4 to 7 p.m. to celebrate with the Swedes when the year changes at 5 p.m. Milwaukee time. Tickets are $50.
In a similar vein, celebrate the Irish New Year at the Explorium Brewpub’s Third Ward location (143 E. St. Paul Ave.). The spot will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and there will be a toast at 6 p.m.
Not to be outdone, Component Brewing (2018 S. First St.) celebrates the Polish New Year with a toast of Pierogi Pils at 5 p.m. The taproom will be open from 2 to 7 p.m.
Broken Bat Brewery (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) has a Noon Year’s Eve party that starts at noon and culminates with a champagne toast at 9 p.m.
New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. First St.) is also getting ahead of things with a beer toast at 8 p.m. They’ll be open from 3 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 3
There’s no better to start to the month for anyone attempting Dry January than N/A Day at The Cooperage Milwaukee (822 S. Water St.). The beverage festival runs from noon to 4 p.m. and features a choice of more than 50 non-alcoholic beers, wines, cocktails and more. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.
Sunday, Jan. 4
Clash of the Craft returns to Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640, Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego) for the final Packers game of the regular season against the Vikings, a noon kickoff. The special guest this week is Drekker Brewing, which is technically in Fargo, just across the Minnesota border. Drekker will have eight outstanding beers on tap.

Tuesday, Jan. 20: Explorium Brewpub – Greendale is hosting its Ninth Anniversary Beer Dinner. The five-course event begins at 6 p.m. and costs $83.
Friday, Jan. 23: Inventors Brewpub (305 E. Washington St., Port Washington) is the location for two days of craft beer celebration. Friday is a Homebrew Expo that includes a homebrew competition and equipment swap. That’s followed by the Winter Beer Invitational on Saturday, where more than 20 breweries will be pouring seasonal brews.
Saturday, Jan. 24: Waukesha’s excellent North Pillar Brewing (winner of our Best of the Burbs Readers Choice vote for Brewery Taproom) is celebrating its second anniversary with general festivities and at least three beers to mark the occasion.
Saturday, Jan. 31: Dust off your best fluorescent snowsuit because the annual Ice Bear Fest is coming to Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). The 80s-themed après ski party starts at noon.
