5 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Jan. 5-9

Beer events are a select few this week, but they’re big on quality.

Tuesday, Jan. 5

MobCraft Beer’s Lager and Listen returns for a 7 p.m. Zoom discussion. The topic for this session is Racial and Gender Division in Beer and the panel includes MobCraft president Henry Schwartz; Ayrton Bryan, who is the strategic partnerships coordinator for MKE Black; and Danii Oliver, who is the founder of Beersgiving 2021 and on the board of directors for the International Pink Boots Society.

Friday, Jan. 8

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) is releasing two barrel-aged imperial stouts at 3 p.m. Warm Fuzzies and Maple Warm Fuzzies will both be available in 16-ounce cans and a limited amount will be offered on tap. Brewer Matt Hofmann says they both have “prominent but balanced bourbon character”, and that’s good enough for me.

Nominations are open for the 2024 Unity Awards!

Know an individual or group committed to bridging divides in our community? Nominate them for a Unity Award by Oct. 31.

Saturday, Jan. 9

Third Space Brewing releases the fourth beer in the barrel-aged Deconstructed Dessert series. Mocha Pie: The Graham Cracker Crust is already available for preorder. The next in the series is Mocha Pie: The Coffee and even though the release is slated for Jan. 23, the preorder begins on Saturday too.

Get to either Eagle Park location (823 E. Hamilton St. and S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego) by 11 a.m. for the public release of Fruits of Strength Fruited Sour Ale and Savoy Truffle Imperial Milk Stout. Both are winter warmers that clock in at 10% ABV.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is releasing Closer Everywhere DDH Juicy IPA at noon. Preorder starts Wednesday at 5 p.m.
