5 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Jan. 13-16

Barrel sales, barrel-aged beers and more highlights this week in craft beer.

Wednesday, Jan. 13

Milwaukee Brewing Company (1128 N. 9th St.) is selling bourbon barrels used to make Louie’s Resurrection. Order online and pick them up from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday.

Third Space Brewing can’t have a large gathering for its annual Ice Bear Fest, so the event is moving virtual. The suggested date is Jan. 30, but after you buy your own Ice Bear Fest package, you ca n celebrate the festivities whenever you want. Thursday, Jan. 14

Join the folks at Ray’s Wine and Spirits for an online discussion about one of the best barrel-aging programs in Chicago. Order a variety six-pack of Revolution Brewing’s Deth series online and hear from head brewer Jim Cibak and barrel master Marty Scott about the genius behind these tasty sippers. The learning is from 6 to 7 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 15

1840 Brewing (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Pillow Top, an IPA made with Citra hops that is double dry hopped with Citra and Strata hops. Sounds delicious. Presale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pickup at 1840 Brewing is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday, Jan. 16

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 W. North Ave.) is releasing Time Is An Illusion DIPA on Saturday. Preorder starts at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
