“Milwaukee has a jewel in Bronzeville,” says Ebony Ssali, the creative director of Bronzeville Week, which runs from Aug. 5-12. The annual celebration of the neighborhood showcases its long history as a cultural and economic hub for the city’s African American community, and the area’s vitality today. Here are four of the events we’re excited to see this year.
