The Bavarian Bierhaus Opens April 26

The former Bavarian Inn received a complete revamping.

For those who can’t wait to belt “Ein Prosit” at German Fest (July 29-31), we come bearing good news. Next Tuesday, Glendale’s former Bavarian Inn will reopen as a restaurant and brewery called the Bavarian Bierhaus. The Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) will feature a restaurant, beer hall and brewery, and the restaurant’s menu features eats both German and otherwise. The BizTimes reports that head brewer Nate Bahr, who once let this magazine’s beer writer tag along while Bahr worked as a third-shift brewer at Lakefront Brewery, has plans to brew 2,000 barrels per year.

There will be a Father’s Day pig roast June 19, and because German-beer drinking in Milwaukee is a year-round event, the long-running Oktoberfest celebrations will continue at the Bierhaus as they did at the Bavarian Inn.

A video tour of the refurbished digs can be seen here. And get a load of their nifty bar below.
