17 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Aug. 17-21

Feats of strength at Black Husky Brewing, an epic IPA event at Third Space Brewing and Lakefront Brewery’s firkins at Irish Fest

Wednesday, Aug. 17

The Tap Yard West Bend (4875 County Rd. Z) is giving over a few of its taps to 3 Sheeps Brewing at 5 p.m. One of them is The Wolf imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels.

The Plant & Sip Succulent Bar heads to The Tap Yard Milwaukee (1555 Rivercenter Dr.) from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $60.

Thursday, Aug. 18

The Crops on Top urban farm deck teams with its neighbor Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) to host a hyper local five-course beer dinner. Tickets are $150 and space is extremely limited.

Friday, Aug. 19

Lakefront Brewery has daily firkin tappings scheduled for Irish Fest at the Celtic Roots Bar. On Friday at 6 p.m. it’s Fixed Gear with Jameson whiskey soaked oak. Saturday at 6 p.m., it’s Snake Chaser Irish Stout with Jameson cold brew soaked oak. The fest wraps up with a firkin of Snake Chaser with Redbreast 12-year whiskey at 4 p.m.

The weekly 1840 Brewing release is Kveik on a Leash, a dry-hopped IPA made with a Norwegian yeast strain. Presale begins at 9 a.m. and pick up is all weekend at 1840 Brewing (342 E. Ward St.).

The Beer Garden Road Show is pouring beers from 1840 Brewing at Homestead Hollow Park (N120 W19000 Freistadt Rd., Germantown) from 4 to 9 p.m.

Try samples from Third Space Brewing and Delirium Belgian Ales from 4 to 6 p.m. at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Third Space is offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 20

The second annual Battle at the Brewery Strongman/Strongwoman event comes to Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) at 10:30 a.m. Watch really strong men and women flip tires, lift atlas stones and participate in other feats of strength. All spectators have to do is lift pints of Black Husky beer while attending Milwaukee’s only sanctioned Strongman/Strongwoman competition. The after party starts at 4 p.m.

Wisconsin IPA Fest is happening again at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). Sample some of the state’s best IPAs from 2 to 5 p.m. and vote on which one you think is the best. The brewers involved will also vote on who earns the coveted title of Best Wisconsin IPA. Get your tickets ahead of time for one of the best beer fests in Milwaukee.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is releasing Does Anyone Work Around Here? Thiols, a dry hopped pale lager fermented with thiolized yeast.

Urban Harvest Brewing Company (1024 S. 5th St.) hosts a block party from 1 to 8 p.m. The festivities include live music, a food truck, a new beer release and a marketplace.

Shred & Stretch is happening at Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) at 10:30 a.m. The workout combines 30 minutes of high-intensity interval training with 30 minutes of yoga. Tickets are $10.

It’s Family Fun Day at The Tap Yard Waukesha. That means a bounce house, face painting, games and more for the kids. It also means the standard great tap list for the adults.

Seltzer and Cider Day is coming to The Tap Yard West Bend at 1 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 21

Collective Flow Yoga is happening on the fantastic outdoor patio at Good City Brewing (2108 N. Farwell Ave.) at 10 a.m. The $25 ticket gets you a 45-minute yoga session and a beer when you’re done.

The Tap Yard Milwaukee has more than a half dozen food trucks coming for Food Truck Day at noon.
