16 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Oct. 19-23

They’re poking beer at The Tap Yard Waukesha. We can’t make this stuff up.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

One of Chicago’s better breweries is coming to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.). Cruz Blanca Brewery is taking over the taps and, as a special treat, The Trouble Maker’s Cocina food truck will be there with tacos to pair.

The Tap Yard West  Bend (4875 County Hwy Z) is pairing Halloween candy with craft beer. Try a flight of four beers matched with some sweet Halloween staples. The Plant & Sip Succulent Bar will also be there from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Tap Yard Waukesha (1150 W. Sunset Dr.) is pouring Dovetail Rauch Dopplebock, a barrel-aged brew made with smoked malt. But wait, there’s more. They’re also “poking” the beer, adding a red hot poker to caramelize the malt in the beer.

Thursday, Oct. 20

Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) is the site of the Studio Ghibli Pop-Up & Art Show over the weekend. It means a costume contest on Saturday, screenings of Ghibli movies, work by local artists, and much more. See the event page for more details about the busy weekend.

Friday, Oct. 21

Introduce yourself to Perspective Brewing (7508 W. Greenfield Ave.) during the brewery’s grand opening party from 4 to 10 p.m. There will be live music, a food truck, a beer release, and general good vibes.

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Midnights Fruited Gose made with blueberries and sea salt. Preorder starts at 9 a.m. and pickup is all weekend.

Try samples from MobCraft Beer at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (8930 W. North Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) is offering samples from Revolution Brewing and Boulevard Brewing from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 22

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) is releasing its take on One In Four IPA, a country-wide collaboration led by Third Space Brewing, at noon. Some of the sales of the beer, which is made to raises awareness to the the problem of domestic violence, benefit Love Is Greater Than Hate.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is releasing It Just Does Weird Things Hazy IPA and Dual Sensations, a barrel-fermented sour IPA made with lactose and vanilla beans.

Lakefront Brewery Pumpkin Lager will pour from a giant pumpkin at the Public Market Harvest Festival at the Milwaukee Public Market (400 N. Water St.) starting at 11 a.m. There are plenty of other fun festivities on the slate at the market, but start the day with a pumpkin pour.

A Halloween candy and craft beer pairing is coming to The Tap Yard Milwaukee (1555 N. River Center Dr.) from 1 to 5 p.m.

Food truck days aren’t over at The Tap Yard Brookfield (2925 N. Barker Rd.). Taco Truck Day is happening at noon.

The Tap Yard Waukesha and The Tap Yard West Bend are both hosting Stout Day. Starting at 1 p.m., they’ll be pouring a few rare stouts.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee will have samples from Gathering Place Brewing from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 23

Riverwest staple Nessun Dorma (2778 N. Weil St.) is celebrates 20 years in business with an outdoor party from 3 to 7 p.m. The event includes live music, food, a champagne toast and a special firkin tapping from Lakefront Brewery.
