Pilot Project Brewing‘s reimagining of the former Milwaukee Brewing space continues with the opening of its rooftop patio. The bar features beer and kombucha from Pilot Project brands as well as draft cocktails, wine, house-made snacks, all with breathtaking skyline views from lounge and high-top seating.
1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Kidding Season Maibock and Tonal Organization, a sour IPA made with blueberries and vanilla. Presale begins at 9 a.m. See below for a good reason why you should swing by 1840 on Saturday.
The Tap Yard – West Bend (4875 County Hwy. Z) kicks off its first anniversary weekend party with a Lakefront Brewery tap takeover from 4 to 7 p.m.
Head to Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) to try samples from Boulevard Brewing (3 to 5 p.m.) and 3 Sheeps Brewing (4 to 6 p.m.).
Saturday, May 13
3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan) celebrates 11 years (yup, 11!) of brewing excellence this week. The party runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The fun includes a pair of barrel-aged anniversary beers, live music and food. Make the trip north to help one of the best craft breweries in the state celebrate.
From 2 to 4 p.m., 1840 Brewing owner Kyle Vetter will be on hand for some “poking” of the just-released Kidding Season Maibock. This traditional process, known by the Germans as Bierstacheln, involves placing a hot metal rod into a full glass, which transforms the beer by caramelizing some of its malt sugar.
Gathering Place Brewing is trying again with the grand opening of its patio at the Wauwatosa tap room (7208 W. North Ave.) from noon to 10 p.m. Weather didn’t cooperate last time.
The Big Smile Bash is happening at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) to mark the release of Smile Citrus Wheat Ale. The party runs from noon to 5 p.m. and includes a seafood boil courtesy of Craft Cow, an appearance by the Nadi Plates food truck, and live music from the Extra Crispy Brass Band.
The Depot Beer Garden opens in Old Falls Village Park (N96W15791 County Line Rd. Menomonee Falls). Beer, food and live music are all happening from 3 to 9 p.m.
The weekend party at The Tap Yard – West Bend continues with a tap takeover by Toppling Goliath starting at 1 p.m.

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) has a Mother’s Day pairing of doughnuts and beermosas. For $23.50 you get a flight of five, while supplies last.
Ope! Brewing Company (6751 W. National Ave.) hosts a couples Paint & Sip event at 3 p.m. For $35 you can learn how to paint and have a date night at the same time.
Take mom to Grilled Cheese Fest at The Tap Yard – West Bend. From noon to 6 p.m. five food trucks will be there.
