16 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Dec. 8-12

From beer yoga to a big Saturday filled with barrel-aged stouts, there’s a whole lot going on this week when it comes to craft beer.

Wednesday, Dec. 8

From 4 to 7 p.m., MobCraft (505 S. 5th St.) is hosting the first MKE Black Indoor Block Party. There will be beer, of course, and Black-owned businesses offering a great chance to get some holiday shopping done. This is the first of two indoor block parties. The second will be at Indeed Brewing on Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Santa will be taking photos with dogs at Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) from 5 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 to get a pic of your furry friend and a portion of the proceeds from the night benefit Friends of MADACC.

The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) is pouring St. Bernardus Abt. 12 and St. Bernardus Christmas Ale at 5 p.m. Order one of the two and you get a cool St. Bernardus glass.

Thursday, Dec. 9

The second Elder + Rime (2300 N. Mayfair Rd.) Winter Series Beer Pairing Dinner is happening from 6 to 8 p.m. Sip on beers from 1840 Brewing Company during the three-course dinner. Tickets are $95 and space is limited.

Lakefront Brewery is having a release party for Baltic Fire, a Baltic porter made with vanilla, at The Gig (1132 E. Wright St.) at 6 p.m.

The Crafty Cow (2675 S. Kinnickinnic Ave) and Third Space Brewing are teaming up for the 12 Beers of Xmas Holiday Beer Dinner. For just $65 you can enjoy four Latin-inspired food courses paired with your choice of a few beers.

Friday, Dec. 10

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing a pair of beers this weekend. Bootable Offence IPA is dry hopped with Bergamot and Eclipse hops, and Lotus Gate Fruited Sour IPA is made with peach, vanilla and milk sugar. Presale begins at 9 a.m.

Saturday, Dec. 11

It’s Density Day at all three Good City Brewing locations. The standout barrel-aged stout is available in four variants this year—Density aged in bourbon barrels, Density aged in rye whisky barrels, Density aged in bourbon barrels with vanilla and coconut, and Density aged in Blis maple bourbon barrel with cinnamon and maple syrup added. The public can preorder from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and pickup begins at 11 a.m. Good Citizens can preorder and pick up on Friday.

Stout Fest is coming to MobCraft from noon to 11 p.m. Wear an ugly holiday sweater and sample a slew of limited stouts. The featured beer is Padisha, barrel aged stout. Variants include Padisha aged in Buffalo Trace, Central Standard and Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrels.

It’s a big release weekend for Eagle Park Brewing. The menu includes Out of the Black Pastry Stout, Stir It Up Imperial Coffee Stout, DDH Demon Haze IPA, The Dual Needler Hazy IPA, Let’s Get Tropical Sour IPA and Holiday Punch Hard Smoothie. Release to the public is Saturday at 11 a.m. at both the East Side (823 Hamilton St.) and Muskego (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy.) locations.

Fans of the board game Chutes & Ladders need to get to New Barons Brewing Coop (2018 S. 1st St.) for the Beer Shots & Ladders Tournament from 1 to 5 p.m. It costs $30 per person to play and includes the likelihood that you’ll have to drink a beer or two on the game board. Tough price to pay.

Jigs & Swigs comes to Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) at 1 p.m. The workout, inspired by Irish dancing, costs $15 and includes a beer when you’re done. Slainte!

Indeed Brewing (530 S. 2nd St.) hosts Bend and Brew, an hour-long yoga session, that starts at 10 a.m. The yoga is free, but register ahead of time.

Sunday, Dec. 12

Milwaukee Brewing Company (1128 N. 9th St.) is releasing Louie’s Cherry Bounce, an amber ale aged in brandy barrels and made with Door County cherries. Get to the taproom at 11 a.m. to try some.

If your dog missed out on Broken Bat’s photos with Santa, Westallion Brewing Company (1825 S. 72nd St.) has you covered with Pup Pics for Santa. For $25 you get a framed photo, access to digital photos and a beer voucher. Pick a one-hour time slot between noon and 4 p.m.

You’ve got a couple of brewery yoga options to consider. Third Space hosts a session from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The $17 price gets you the yoga and a post-workout beer. Faklandia Brewing (3807 S. Packard Ave.) starts stretching at 11 a.m. The hour session costs $25 and also includes a beer or kombucha.
