15 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Oct. 1-6

Oktoberfest celebrations are beginning to wind down, but 3 Sheeps Brewing has two planned for one day. Also, cheers to Indeed Brewing, which is celebrating five years.

Tuesday, Oct. 1

You still want to play with Legos, right? Of course you do. Head to Gathering Place Brewing (7208 W. North Ave.) on Tuesdays in October and November between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. to do just that. Beer & Bricks is a partnership between Gathering Place and Tosa Block Party. They supply the Legos, you bring the creativity.

At 6:33 p.m. (one minute after sunset), Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.) is pouring Great Lakes Brewing Nosferatu Imperial Red Ale. They’re also screening the classic film that gives the beer its name.

Wednesday, Oct. 2

The Plant & Sip Succulent Bar comes to The Tap Yard – Milwaukee (1555 N. Rivercenter Dr.) at 6 p.m. For $60 you can build a cool green creation and have your first beverage for free.

Board & Brush is stopping by Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) for a creative workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For just a $48 ticket, you’ll get the instruction and materials you need to create a piece of cool wood art for your home.

Friday, Oct. 4

Kegel’s Inn supplies the beer and food at Milwaukee’s Oktoberfest, which happens Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 4-6) at Cathedral Square Park (520 E. Wells St.). It kicks off with free beer at 4 p.m. on Friday and runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Wiener Dog Beauty Pageant, clearly a highlight, is Sunday at 3 p.m.

The five-week long Oktoberfest at Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) wraps up over the weekend. The fun begins at 4 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Try samples from Standard Goods Beer from 3 to 5 p.m. at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Saturday, Oct. 5

Indeed Brewing Milwaukee (530 S. 2nd St.) celebrates five years in business with a block party from 2 to 9 p.m. The schedule includes live music, food and Oktoberfest-related specials.

Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) hosts OktoHarvest Blocktoberfest at 1 p.m. They’ll be releasing Pilsen Schmilsen and having live music and a food truck.

3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan) is doubling down on beer fests on Saturday. Esslingen Fest, which celebrates Sheboygan’s sister city in Germany, starts at 11 a.m. and kicks off with firkin tapping by the mayor at noon. At 6 p.m. the fun transitions into an Oktoberfest celebration, which lasts until 11 p.m.

Perspective Brewing Company (7508 W. Greenfield Ave.) celebrates Fall Fest from 5 to 10 p.m. Expect tappings of fall beers, fire pits, a food truck, and live music.

West Allis has a Blocktoberfest happening as well. Head to the Blocks of Becher (on Becher St. between 68th and 70th) from noon to 8 p.m. There will be a free firkin tapping, courtesy of Lakefront Brewing, at the grill stand of Station No. 06. Plenty of food and music will be on tap as well.

Cedarburg has its Oktoberfest happening downtown on Saturday and Sunday. They’ll have vintage steins, music, a glockenspiel show, and beer.

The Brewery Running Series comes to Vennture Brew Co. (5519 W. North Ave.) at 11 a.m. Tickets for the casual 5K run start at $35.

Sunday, Oct. 6

The Fall Fest of Ale comes to Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes fall vendors, fall foods, and fall beers.

Oct. 12: Gathering Place Brewing celebrates its eighth annual Limb Shaker Day by releasing its standout Belgian tripel made with Door County cherries.

Oct. 26: MKE Brewing (2335 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. ) is hosting a 27th Anniversary/Halloween Party. They’ll be releasing Louie’s Resurrection barrel-aged amber ale.
