Friday, Feb. 2

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) is releasing some gems from its cellar for the Brewers’ Reserve series. This week they’re releasing a 2019 Barleywine that has been aged in bourbon barrels. You can order yours for pickup starting at 9 a.m.

Another Brews & Snow Shoes is happening at the Friends of Wehr Nature Center (9701 W. College Ave.). Actually, it’s more likely to be just a hike, but the Beer Barons of Milwaukee will be there, offering up beverages nonetheless. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and costs $15 ($13 for Milwaukee County residents and $10 for members of the Nature Center).

Try samples from Sierra Nevada Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 5 p.m.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is pairing beer and cupcakes from 4 to 7 p.m. There are six delicious pairings to choose from.

Saturday, Feb. 3

One of Milwaukee’s best annual events has a twist this year. Mittenfest is at Boone & Crockett (818 S. Water St.) this year (instead of its usual home at Burnheart’s). It still includes live music and rare beers, and it still benefits The Hunger Task Force. Mittenfest runs from noon to 8 p.m.

The Jackson Sparks Foundation hosts a beer and wine tasting at Broken Bat Brewery (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.). The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and tickets are $65. Proceeds from the fundraiser help baseball dreams come true for children who have endured traumatic experiences.

S’mores and Pours IV comes to Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr.) from noon to 5 p.m. The brewery supplies the s’more fixings, fire and beers to wash it all down. Raised Grain will also be pouring some rarities and cooking chili.

The weekly release at Hacienda Beer. Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is Stop, Don’t, Come Back, a German lager made with Mosaic hops.

The early lead for best local beer name is Nic Cage Is My Spirit Animal. The hazy IPA is a collaboration between Three Cellars and Foxtown Brewing. Three Cellars (N72 W13400 Lund Ln., Menomonee Falls) will be releasing it and pouring some other gems from Foxtown starting at noon.

The Urban Market Valentine’s Day edition comes to Urban Harvest Brewing (1028 S. 5th St.) from 1 to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 4

Get your beer churchin’ at the second annual Bluegrass Gospel Brunch at Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.). Doors open at noon and music by Sugar Bush begins at 1 p.m. The event includes a potluck, so bring a dish to share if you feel so inclined.

Like soup? New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) is hosting the Souper Bowl Potluck Party at 1 p.m. Bring a soup and you get drink specials.
