1. Witch

ALL WEEKEND AT VARIOUS TIMES | RENAISSANCE THEATERWORKS

The women-run theater company’s latest production is a witty retelling of a classic story with an impressive cast of local actors. In this play written by Jen Silverman, a fiendish town guest offers to grant the residents’ twisted wishes and asks for their souls in return.

2. Night of the Living Opera

ALL WEEKEND AT VARIOUS TIMES | BROADWAY THEATRE CENTER 

Not yet willing to give up the spooky spirit? This fully staged operatic horror – an adaptation of the classic film Night of the Living Dead – features zombie puppets and a six-piece chamber orchestra.

3. Day of the Dead Ofrendas

FRIDAY AT 10:30 A.M. | LATINO ARTS

This Día de los Muertos exhibition honors and celebrates those who have passed with ofrendas – altars with offerings of food, flowers, candles and more. Installations from The Mexican Consulate, University School of Milwaukee and local artists are on display. 

4. “Newfangled: Modernism in the Permanent Collection” Opening Reception

FRIDAY AT 5:30 P.M. | MILLER ART MUSEUM, STURGEON BAY

This sneak peek of the Miller Art Museum’s latest exhibition includes live music by Craig Schultz and light refreshments. The curated pieces, which explore modernist art and its characteristics, will run through Dec. 30.

5. Milwaukee Bucks vs. New York Knicks

FRIDAY AT 6:30 P.M. | FISERV FORUM 

The Bucks face off against the New York Knicks to start the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament. This simultaneous regular season game and first-round match-up will have a new court design to mark this new contest.

6. Motherfolk with Social Cig

FRIDAY AT 8 P.M. | X-RAY ARCADE, CUDAHY

Cincinnati-based indie band Motherfolk plays this popular artist-owned venue with local self-described “indie skate rock” band Social Cig as an opener.

7. Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation Food and Wine Tasting Experience

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT 6:30 P.M. | THE PFISTER HOTEL 

The two-night event starts with a tasting experience of Milwaukee’s top restaurants and concludes with a wine dinner from celebrity chefs Patrick O’Halloran and Luke Zahm. The dinner’s menu reflects the legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi’s Italian roots, and proceeds go towards the foundation’s mission of preventing cancer and providing care for patients.

8. Off-Kilter: An Improvised Musical

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | INTERCHANGE THEATER 

This comedic, original and completely improvised musical aims to bring “the sweet and the savory together” through on-the-spot singing. Tickets are $10.

9. Xtreme Raptor Day

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.-4 P.M. | SCHLITZ AUDUBON NATURE CENTER

Fifteen of the nature center’s birds of prey are set to headline this festival, which celebrates flying hunters such as hawks, owls, eagles and more. Participate in activities such as crafting eagle’s nests and taking one-of-a-kind photos with these predatory birds.

10. Harmony of Hearts Festival & TRASH Fashion Show

SATURDAY AT 8 A.M. | CALVARY CHURCH 

A trash fashion show is what it sounds like – a display of stylish talent where designers make clothes exclusively from garbage. The pieces will be auctioned off after the show to raise money for multiple social causes in the city of Milwaukee and beyond. 

11. Apple Cider Rolleo

SATURDAY AT 4:30 P.M. | MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY

Calling all college athletes! This log-rolling competition is open to any college amateur who thinks they have what it takes to stay standing. The tournament will have three skill levels, and each participant will get a T-shirt. 

12. Royal Princess Brunch

SUNDAY AT 10 A.M. | THE INGLESIDE HOTEL, PEWAUKEE

This chance to meet and greet Disney princesses – including Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel and more – will include brunch, live performances and plenty of photo opportunities.

13. The Gables of Germantown Craft Fair

SUNDAY AT 11 A.M. | THE GABLES OF GERMANTOWN

Just in time for winter, the Germantown senior community plays host to this holiday craft fair with homemade goods, decor an a booth from Almost Home Cat Rescue MKE to answer questions about volunteering.
