12 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Jan. 25-29

Third Space throws its apres-ski Baltic porter party and 3 Sheeps drops a once-a-year behemoth.  

Wednesday, Jan. 25

18th Street Brewing is taking over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m. The brewery from Hammond, Indiana isn’t bashful about its IPAs and stouts.

Thursday, Jan. 26

Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) hosts an 80s night that includes the release of Pink Ganache Stout. You get a free pink ganache dessert if you’re dressed in pink or Miami Vice garb.


 

UNITY AWARDS EVENT

Join Milwaukee Magazine and Quad for the third-annual Unity Awards Event on March 8 from 6:30-9 p.m. at GATHER in the Deer District.


Friday, Jan. 27

The annual release of Cuvee Blend is happening at 3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan). This year’s iteration blends bourbon barrel-aged Barleywine, rye barrel-aged Belgian-style Quad, and bourbon barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout. The taproom release is on Friday and the limited beer will make its way to stores on Jan. 30.

It’s another double-release weekend for 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.). The brewery is offering Helles, a German lager, and Psychographics, a West Coast IPA. Preorder starts at 9 a.m. and pickup is all week.

Gathering Place Brewing’s Small Batch Friday series features a Nut Brown at the Riverwest taproom (811 E. Vienna Ave.) and a Double Red IPA at the Wauwatosa (7208 W. North Ave.) tap room.

Try samples from Pilot Project Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 28

The annual Ice Bear Fest is happening at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). It’s the best (and only) aprés ski party in the city. Wear your best 80s ski gear and sip on Ice Bear Baltic Porter. Preorder a party pack that includes some cool gear for the festivities.

Eagle Park Brewing has a trio of beer releases with one ingredient in common, marshmallow. Barrel-Aged Miss Swiss is an imperial stout made with marshmallows and cacao. Barrel-Aged Hazelnut Miss Swiss is similar but also includes hazelnut. Pineapple Purée is a sour ale made with pineapple and marshmallow. The public release is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at both the Hamilton (823 E. Hamilton St.) and Muskego (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy.) locations.

Radix Fermentation is bringing a few of its beers to Supermoon Beer Co. (3145 S. Howell Ave.) at noon. You can preorder seven of them now.

The weekly release at Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is Everything Eventually Hazy Pale Ale double dry hopped with Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops.

Sunday, Jan. 29

Another Paint a Pint with Priscilla event is scheduled at Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton). For $30 you get a pint glass to design and a free beverage. Whenever you return to Sahale with your glass, you get $1 off of your first pour. Spots are limited so be sure to register.

The Above & Beyond Children’s Museum Taproom Takeover comes to 3 Sheeps Brewing. The kid-friendly event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features games, ice cream, raffles and more. One dollar from every pint of 3 Sheeps Pilsner sold in January benefits the museum, which sustained water damage in December.
