12 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Feb. 8-13

Mitten Fest returns! That’s just one highlight from a busy craft beer week.

Tuesday, Feb. 8

New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) is pairing beer with Melt Chocolates. The five-course tasting costs $55. Choose from sessions at 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 9

Barley’s Angels is taking its member meet-up to Eagle Park Brewing (823 E. Hamilton St.) for Pucker Punch:  Sours and Process. Social hour starts at 6 p.m. and the discussion and tasting of sours begins at 7 p.m. Cost is just $10 and includes a sour sample flight.

3 Sheeps Brewing Offshore IPA has a big release day. The fun starts at 2 p.m. at The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) and moves to The Crafty Cow (6519 W. North Ave.). If you grab an Offshore at both locations you’ll be entered to win a prize thanks to 3 Sheeps.

Lakefront Brewery is taking over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) starting at 4 p.m. They’re bringing some standards like Riverwest Stein, but also a barrel-aged beer or two.

1840 Brewing Company is taking over the taps at North 48 (W62 N599 Washington Ave., Cedarburg). Expect a wide wide variety of well-crafted beers.

Thursday, Feb. 10

MobCraft Beer will be pouring beer at The Warming House at Drexel Town Square (8040 S. 6th St., Oak Creek). The three-day event also includes live music, food and other fun. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) is releasing Cosmic Logic IPA. I’m hearing good things about this relatively new brewery, head there between 4 and 10 p.m. to try their new brew.

Friday, Feb. 11

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) has a pair of beer releases this week. I’m In Love Wit You is a wheat ale made with freeze-dried strawberries and Lisa Dank is a double dry-hopped IPA. Both are available for presale at 9 a.m. and both will be available on tap on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 12

Mitten Fest comes back to Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.) after a one-year hiatus. The outstanding outdoor block party runs from noon to 8 p.m. and includes music, food and some amazing beer options. A few barrel-aged rarities from Central Waters Brewing and gems from Bell’s Brewery are the highlights for beer drinkers. Bring some cash to donate to the Hunger Task Force, dress for the cold, and prepare to have a great time.

The Fermentorium has a few beers being released over the weekend. Never A Frown Brown Ale and Scorpio Rising—a barrel-aged imperial stout made with vanilla, almond, toasted coconut and apricot—will be available in cans. Latibulator is a doppelbock and will be on draft only. The Cedarburg (7481 State Rd. 60) taproom opens at noon and the Wauwatosa Barrel House (6933 W. North Ave.) opens at 2 p.m.

The airy taproom at Enlightened Brewing Company (2020 S. Allis St.) is a perfect place for yoga. Head there a for a one-hour yoga session that starts at 11 a.m. Cost is $25 and includes a post workout beverage.

Sunday, Feb. 13

Head to Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) at 10:30 a.m. for a one-hour yoga session. Tickets are $20 and include a beer for your efforts.
