11 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: May 8-12

Treat your moms to a good beer this Sunday. Before that, treat yourself to a few at some of these great events this week!

Wednesday, May 8

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) has a pair of beer releases this week. Smallwaukee is a low ABV table beer and Plumposa is a fruited sour inspired by a mimosa.

Friday, May 10

The Tap Yard – West Bend (4875 County Hwy. Z) celebrates its second anniversary over the weekend. It kicks off with taps of some gems by 3 Sheeps Brewing and Revolution Brewing. The tap list includes a few barrel-aged rarities. The fun culminates on Sunday with Grilled Cheese Fest.

It’s weigh-in day for pop tabs that several local breweries have been collecting to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The moment of truth is the weigh-in ceremony happening at 5:30 p.m. at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). The party runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and includes a DJ, raffle and food.

The Elm Grove Beer Garden (13600 Juneau Blvd.) opens for the season at 4 p.m. Third Space Brewing will be pouring a few of their outstanding brews.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) is offering samples from Central Waters Brewing from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 11

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) hosts the Red Magic Makers Market from 1 to 6 p.m. Check out the work of several Native American artists.

The weekly release at Hacienda Brewing Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is Does Anyone Work Around Here?, a dry-hopped lager.

Try samples from Bell’s Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Brewing Ommegang (noon to 2 p.m.) and Dos Equis (1 to 3 p.m.) are offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha.

Sunday, May 12

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) is making beermosas, and more, for Mother’s Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Four beermosas are on the menu, as is a bloody mary and a classic mimosa.

Yoga in Your Third Space is happening at Third Space Brewing at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $23 for a 75-minute session.

May 19: Maifest: Gluten-Free Festival comes to Lakefront Brewery. Enjoy gluten-free beverages and food.

May 25: Draft & Vessel ‘Tosa (7479 Harwood Ave.) celebrates its third anniversary. Good beer will likely ensue.

May 29: Third Space’s Beer School covers the topic of sour beers.

June 2: Pilot Project is pairing Bloodys & Brews. Early bird tickets start at $20.
