11 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: April 13-16

Milwaukee Day is Thursday, and so is the home opener for the Brewers. Throw in a few beer events, and it’s busy week in Brew City.

Wednesday, April 13

Lakefront Brewery is releasing Grisette, a farmhouse-style ale made with Earl Grey tea and citrus peel, at Nessun Dorma (2778 N. Weil St.) at 6 p.m. The beer was made in collaboration with the Wisconsin chapter of the Pink Boots Society, an organization that promotes and celebrates women and/or non-binary people in the brewing industry.

Learn how to paint with watercolors from Bri Strelow, an art teacher and bartender at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). From 6 to 8 p.m. you’ll paint your masterpiece and enjoy a free beer while doing it. Register online for just $35.

Thursday, April 14

It’s the release day for gin barrel-aged O-Gii Imperial Wit at Milwaukee Brewing Company (1128 N. 9th St.). The award-winning tea-infused brew is available at 1 p.m.

Ray’s Wine & Spirits (8930 W. North Ave.) is celebrating Milwaukee Day with free samples from Enlightened Brewing from 1 to 4 p.m., a visit by Sweet Smoke BBQ at 2 p.m., and an early Growler Gallery opening at 2 p.m.

Milwaukee Day at Gathering Place Brewing Company (811 E. Vienna Ave.) means $4.14 pints, a Milwaukee Maker’s mini market, and a pair of beer releases. Slightly Askew is an unfiltered helles lager and #shoehaze is a pale ale made with flaked oats and El Dorado and Cascade hops.

Charles E. Fromage (5811 W. Vliet St.) teams up with 1840 Brewing Company for a five-course beer pairing. Brat and kimchee sliders paired with Dad’s Home Kölsch sound like reason enough to attend. Cost is $45.

Urban Harvest Brewing Company (1024 S. 5th St.) is serving $4 pints of 414 Golden Ale to celebrate Milwaukee Day.

Friday, April 15

Try Third Space Brewing’s Like a Girl IPA and learn about the Pink Boots Society. The beer will be pouring at Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) from 4 to 8 p.m. and Third Space brewer Sam Danen will be there to talk about the beer and the organization.

Saturday, April 16

Head to 1840 Brewing and join them and Eagle Park Brewing for the Joint IPA Street Party. From noon to 8 p.m. they’ll be pouring two versions of Joint IPA (one from 1840 and one from Eagle Park). Live music starts at, ahem, 4:20 p.m. and Riley’s Good Dogs is there to take care of the munchies.

Stock up on Gathering Place beers at the Spring Cleaning Beer Sale from 2 to 6 p.m. Gathering Place needs to clear out the coolers, and beer drinkers benefit. create a mix-and-match selection at a discounted price.

This weekend, Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is releasing Excited to Be Here Kölsch and Floating on a Cloud Hazy IPA.
