IT’S THE GREATEST day of the year. Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras. When we eat all the delicious fatty foods in anticipation of tomorrow, Ash Wednesday – the start of the Christian Lenten season and a day of fasting.
VOTE FOR MILWAUKEE’S BEST BEER!
What’s Brew City’s best? We’ve picked 16 of our favorite Milwaukee craft beers for a March Madness-style tournament, but it’s up to you to pick the winner! Will it be bright and hoppy? Dark and malty? A zippy lager? Every one is worthy of the title; who will claim the sudsy crown?
Paczki – Polish filled doughnuts – are a Fat Tuesday tradition. And you’re probably seeing lots of posts today about where to get them. Add to the mix the O&H bakeries, which are known for their Danish kringle. The stores – the closest location to Milwaukee is 9540 S. 27th St. in Oak Creek – are offering 10 flavors of paczki and they’re available only on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 21. Flavors include Door County cherry, cheese, lemon custard and apple. Is one day not enough? Through Feb. 24, you can order a Paczki Mardi Gras Package from their website, which contains nine doughnuts.
O&H is also offering King Cake Kringle in stores today only, but you can order one online until Feb. 24.
