There’s plenty going on at local breweries when it comes to Black Friday beer releases, but that’s not all that’s happening from a beer perspective. The annual hunt for Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout is just one of many beer-related events this week.
Tuesday, Nov. 21
Build a holiday wreath while sipping on a tasty beverage at The Tap Yard Milwaukee (1555 North River Center Dr.). At Hops & Holiday Wreaths you get the materials and instruction you need and a free beer included in the $60 ticket price.
Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) is pouring samples from Broken Bat Brewing from noon to 2 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 24
Presale has started for the Goose Island Bourbon County release at both Aman’s locations (26210 W Loomis Rd., Wind Lake and 110 Chapman Farm Blvd., Mukwonago). Pickup of your selection of five variants. starts on Friday.
Head to downtown Racine for Bourbon & Beer on Black Friday. From 1 to 5 p.m. you can sip on small pours of 10 bourbons and 10 bourbon-related beers while strolling downtown. Cost is $45.
Bourbon County presale has also begun at Ray’s Wine & Spirits (8930 W. North Ave.). Pick yours up on Friday after 9 a.m.
Supermoon Beer Company (3145 S. Howell Ave.) is hosting a pair of Cellar Sessions, which combine tasting with learning about the brewing process. Times are noon and 2:30 and space is limited. Reserve your spot for $25.
The Drunk Uncle (1902 S. 68th St.) hosts its Black Friday 50 Cent Beer Sale. Beginning at noon, every beer is just 50 cents.
Both Discount Liquor locations (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave. and 919. N. Barstow St.) open at 9 a.m. on Black Friday and Saturday. 2023 Bourbon County Brand Stout and several variants will be available, as will vintage BCS varieties and other barrel-aged gems. And, they’ll have a raffle for things like a bottle of 2019 Sam Adams Utopias. The bulk of the BCS inventory will be available on Friday, so get there early.
Saturday, Nov. 25
All of Otto’s Wine & Spirits several locations are releasing their Bourbon County allocations at 9 a.m. Customers are allotted one Bourbon County Brand Original Stout and one variant.
Discount Liquor Milwaukee is offering sample from Central Waters Brewing from noon to 2 p.m.
Try samples from Steel Tank Brewing at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 2 p.m.
