Yelich Is Sporting Some MKE Pride With His New Skyline Cleats

We love to see Milwaukee pride.

Christian Yelich showed off some clean custom Nike cleats on Twitter Sunday. The Alpha Hurache Elite 3 Mids have a tight design and are perfect for a pro. Yelich’s new cleats have his number 22 on the ankle, golden ink splotches along the heel and ankle strap over a white shoe and the piece de resistance is the Milwaukee skyline printed in navy blue over the ankle strap.

The new cleats sport the colors of the Milwaukee Brewers. Yelich tagged @nikediamond to give them a shout out for coming though on a fresh print.

Fans commented asking him to send them a pair and potentially sign them. Cinders23 said, “Love the nod to us cheeseheads!” Others called them, “Fire,” and “Dope,” and said they, “Drip.” The consensus was they are cool cleats and Milwaukeeans and Brewers fans all over approve of the tribute to the great city of Milwaukee.

Over seven seasons Yelich earned 151 home runs, 1827 bases and a batting average of 0.296. Getting his start with the Florida Marlins in August of 2010, he hopped back and forth from the Marlins until 2018 when he was traded to the Brewers for Lewis Brinson. He has been on the Brewers ever since.

In the 2020 season he hit 12 home runs, 86 total bases and a batting average of 0.205, which was significantly lower than his batting average of 0.329 in 2019. Even with that blip on his record the three-time Silver Slugger does not seem to have lost support and according to the team’s managers he is going to come back full fledge in the next season.
