Wild Lights at the Zoo Will Shine Brighter Than Ever

The animal-themed light show is back for its second year.

The Milwaukee County Zoo will once again transform into an illuminated destination with hundreds of thousands of glittering lights – even more than last year – throughout the forests and pathways, providing guests with an enchanted evening under the stars.

Wild Lights is returning after a successful launch last holiday season and will greet guests with vibrant colors and shining lights as they stroll along a one-mile path filled with animal-themed light displays. New this year will be sparkling gorilla, rhino and zebra sculptures and a dazzling peacock photo op.

Wild Lights will run Dec. 1 through Dec. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission gates will close each night at 8:15 p.m. The Zoo will be closed Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 24 and 25.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

For their health and safety, the zoo’s animals will not be viewable during Wild Lights. To accommodate guests with sensory sensitivities, a special Wild Lights Guide will be available to enjoy this sparkly special event.

On Dec. 8 and 9, guests age 21 and older can enjoy a unique experience with Cheers!, an event featuring local bands, live ice carving demos, special spirits and food.

For tickets and more information go to the zoo’s website. Zoological Society members receive 15% discount with code twinkle and a membership number. The zoo is also doing a fundraiser called Wild Lights for Wildlife. Drop off working and non-working lights for recycling to participate. Proceeds support Wisconsin’s Endangered Resources Fund.
